Meet Dr. Lindsey Carlson!

Lindsey Carlson, DVM

Veterinarian

 

Dr. Lindsey Carlson is originally from West Michigan. She grew up on a hay and blueberry farm with her horses, dogs, and cats. While in middle school and high school, Dr. Carlson competed with horses in 4-H, and on the Arabian 'A' circuit locally and nationally. She worked as a veterinary assistant, farm hand, and research assistant while growing up and in undergrad. She also competed on the Michigan State University's traveling varsity Polo team as an undergrad. Dr.Carlson graduated with an Animal Science Bachelors of Science degree from Michigan State University in 2009.  She then continued at Michigan State University for veterinary school and graduated in 2013. While in vet school, she worked as a veterinary assistant, completed two summer research internships at Pfizer, and was a Histology tutor.

 

Since graduating, Dr.Carlson has been training and competing with dogs in a sport called IGP with her dogs.  Formerly known as Schutzhund, IGP is a dog sport which originated in Germany as a breed suitability test for the German Shepherd. This sport involves three phases: tracking, obedience, and protection. Originally starting the sport with her Doberman named Bruce, Dr.Carlson now competes with German Shepherds. Dr.Carlson met her now husband through mutual friends in the sport, and she moved to the Greater Boston area to be closer to him in 2014. 

 

Dr. Carlson joined Wrentham Animal Hospital in 2023 as a part time associate veterinarian. She is USDA APHIS Accredited, and can complete international health certificates. Dr.Carlson also specializes in sedated orthopedic x-rays as part of the screening process for working dogs and regularly submits radiographs to the SV and to OFA.  She currently lives in Norton with her family. She has two German Shepherds, Furbo and Leo, two senior kitties, Mittens and Wiggy, a fish, and a snake.
